Wedding time!

I'm back to blogging after being away for longer than I would have ever wanted to. And now I hope to stay on top with the postings! So I just got my DSLR (Nikon D5100) and that got me all excited, although the learning aspect of using the camera can sometimes get frustrating. But in the end the picture quality makes it worth it. Here are a few of my first test shots taken just before heading out to a friend's wedding

Dress: Asos

Purse: Nine West

I  had so much fun at the wedding that I missed taking a lot more pictures :(

Fashion Traffic Light: SAG Awards 2012 Edition

When Did You Decide?
I know I'm a bit late in giving my 2 cents on the SAG Awards red carpet (thanks to my overwhelming workload at school) but I'll give it anyway :) While watching the Red Carpet, I just thought if I was holding a fashion traffic light at the red carpet there were some I'd show the green light to because they looked stunning, others who I would show the yellow light because they were so-so but I'd still let them go through, and then a few others I would straight up show the red light indicating that they had to go back home and change!

There were a number who rocked the carpet but these are just some of my top choices, who immediately get the Green light pass. Even though Guiliana Rancic was a fashion correspondent and not an actor, I thought she looked absolutely stunning; definitely one of the best dressed! Sofia Vergara always knows how to dress for her curves, and although she wears similar styles at her various red carpet appearances, I still think she looked amazing. Octavia Spencer also worked with her body; she looked fabulous!

Although I loved the color on Jessica Chastain, I wasn’t really crazy about the dress; I guess it’s because I’m just not a fan of bust cut dresses. I didn't really like Kaley Cuoco’s Romona Keveza number, and somehow I just wish the braided band matched the color of her hair, if she really wanted to wear one. While a lot of people were raving about Michelle Williams in her Valentino dress, I wasn’t particularly sold. To me, she looked somewhat juvenile… and that’s just my opinion obviously :) Nonetheless, I’d let these ladies with a Yellow light pass (aka step it up next time).

Red Light: Shailene Woodley looks like she was getting ready for bed. Busy Philipps just didn’t do it for me on that carpet; that whole boho chic thing is just not for the red carpet… take it elsewhere!  And Kristin Wiig almost had the chance to make it work, but for that choker! I would show her the red light just to go and take it off. Choker aside, she looked great.

Elie Saab Spring / Summer 2012... To Die For

Damn! The looks from Elie Saab’s spring / summer 2012 runway show at the Paris Fashion Week were nothing short of amazing! I'm not even sure where to begin... Words cannot explain my lust for this collection. Those bright colors killed me… The pieces are flawless. If I had to pick (in my dreams, of course) I’m not even sure which one I would take ’cos they are all gorgeous!!!!! I could totally imagine myself in all the outfits. Detail On The Back

Shirt – Zara; Pants – Zara; Shoes – Aldo; Necklace – Aldo

Soft Chiffon Shirt

Shirt – Smart Set; Skirt – Dynamite; Bag – Zara; Shoes – Aldo.

Btw, Zara is having sweet sales! I went into the mall over the weekend simply to buy a birthday card from the Hallmark store. Fortunately – or unfortunately – for me, I have to walk right past Zara’s to get to Hallmark. Needless to say my attention got diverted!

On another note, I’m also aware I need to invest in a new camera because the image quality from my current one definitely isn’t perfect. So for now I just love playing around with effects to make the pictures looks nicer.

My Heelvolution

The evolution of my heels

Gone are the days of insecurity about my height. I’ve finally conquered my fear of heels, but that definitely didn’t happen overnight. Now I look back at some of the shoes I bought as recent as 5 years ago and I’m like what the hell was I thinking! I look at some of my shoes and compare them with the heels I own now and it sometimes makes me laugh; what I thought was high enough 5 years ago now looks too low :D

Bond No. 9 New York

Bond No. 9 Signature Perfume

I got this perfume as a birthday present from my boyfriend; I tried a number of samples and eventually chose this one, but it was not an easy decision cos they all smell sooo good. The scent is phenomenal. Described by the makers as “so seductive and frankly erotic,” I couldn’t agree more. Well actually, I don’t know if I would go as far as branding the scent as erotic, but I definitely agree that it’s very seductive. I love wearing it! A number of their fragrances are unisex and they would interestingly work very with both sexes. The next one I would like to own from the Bond No.  9 fragrance collection is the Scent of Peace, that’s another great one and I’m running out of my samples.
